Do visitors have to pay anything to find a lawyer or law firm in the directory?

No. The directory is free to the public.

Is Locate a Lawyer.com an attorney referral service?

No. We are not a referral service. All arrangements are made between the law firms or attorneys and their clients. We do not get involved with any attorney - client relationship.

How do potential clients contact us once they have found our firm in the directory?

There are a few ways in which clients may contact you or your firm. The most direct way is by phone. Your phone number will be listed in your office profile. Visitors are not required to fill out any forms to see your phone number. Usually, when a potential client calls you on the phone, this would be the most valuable type of lead. If you are concerned about your ROI with respect to advertising expenses for your directory listing, it would be a good idea for you to assign a dedicated phone number to your listing. This would make it easy to track your responses. If you are unable to assign a dedicated phone line, then the next best thing is to use some kind of internal tracking system in your office to keep track of your responses.

Potential clients may opt to contact you via email. Your profile will have a secure email link that takes visitors to a contact form. Your email address will not be exposed to spam bots. It will remain secure. You will receive a form submission with all the details at the email address you provide.

Visitors who find you in the directory may also click the link to your website and contact you from there.

Do you accept checks?

No. We do not accept checks. The directory is automated and requires that you provide a credit card that can be used for recurring billing. This is the main reason that we are able to charge a very low price for your listing.

Can you bill me so I can pay by invoice?

No. Periodic charges will be automatically recurring on your credit card.

What will I see on my credit card statement?

You will see a charge on your credit card statement for STUDIO 1 DESIGN AND HOSTING.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Not for a Basic Listing or Premium Listing. We will, however require that you sign a contract for a Featured Listing because this type of listing is the most exclusive that we offer and will be limited to only a small number of available slots.

Can I enroll and pay online?

Yes. You may enroll online at any time using our convenient online Enrollment Form. You may also purchase additional office locations and attorney profile pages at any time after your initial purchase through your account pages in the customer area. You simply login and make purchases and make edits to your profile pages using the customer interface.

What happens next after I enroll?

You will receive an email with your login details, then you simply login to your customer account through the "Login" link that appears at the top of the page. Once logged in, there will be a "My Account" link in the upper right corner of the page. You can always return to the customer account main page by clicking the "My Account" link. You will be able to configure your main office profile and additional office locations plus attorney profile pages for your firm from your customer account. There is also an Online Help Guide to where you will find a complete set of instructions to assist you in the process. Additionally, there are context sensitive Help screens for each section in the customer interface. Support is available if you experience any difficulties. We are here to assist you in every way possible to help you configure your profile pages.

What do I get for a Basic Listing?

A Basic Listing includes a Main Office profile page plus 2 Attorney Profile pages and up to 30 searchable areas of practice.

How do I make changes to my firm profile page and attorney profile pages?

You simply login to your customer account through the "Login" link that appears at the top of the page, then you will use your customer account where you will have access to your main office profile, additional office locations and attorney profile pages. You simply make edits to each of the sections on the page so they appear to your liking.

I am interested in upgrading my listing to a Featured or Premium Listing. How does that work?

Upgrades to Premium Listings and Featured Listings are done by the site administrator. Simply contact the site administrator at any time toll free at 888-414-2390 to obtain pricing information and other details. It is impractical for listing upgrades to be made through the customer interface because there are simply too many variables. Prices will vary according to practice area, location and availabilty.

How does the search function work ... how do visitors to the website find my listing?

Visitors will have several options to find your listing and profile pages. They can find you by selecting a practice area, then state and city, or they may first select a state and city, then select a practice area. There are several search forms available to visitors as well. They can search by keyword - words in your firm name - or perhaps by attorney first and last name, or by city and state or by practice area. There are numerous options available to visitors. It is very user-friendly and easy to locate your listing.

Our practice has multiple locations. How does that work?

All firms in the directory have a main office location. If you have other office locations in other cities, then you may purchase them at the same rate as the Basic Listing. Each Basic Listing includes an office location plus 2 Attorney Profiles. The additional office locations are linked from the main office profile page and vise-versa. So if visitors find your firm profile, they will see that you have other office locations that may be more convenient for them.

Our practice has multiple lawyers who work at different locations. How does that work in the directory?

The Attorney Profile pages are linked from your office location profile page(s). A vistor searching the directory for a specific attorney may find your Attorney Profile page first. Your firm name and address will appear at the top of all profile pages with link(s) to all the office locations where visitors can read all the details of your law firm. An attorney may be assigned to any office location in your firm. You will be able to assign attorneys to each office location using the interface in your customer account area.
