Man Arrested for DUI While Drunk Driving La-Z Boy Chair

Author: DULUTH, Minn. — A 62 year old Minnesota man was arrested for DUI while driving drunk on his motorized La-Z Boy chair. Dennis LeRoy Anderson says he wrecked his ride because he was trying to pop a wheelie and blamed the girl he was carrying for throwing off his balance.

The added weight of the passenger coupled with the wheelie, tossed the girl from the chair causing Anderson to slam into a parked car.
According to a report from “The Age”, the man told “police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.”
A criminal complaint says 62-year-old Anderson told police he left a bar in the northern Minnesota town of Proctor on his chair after drinking eight or nine beers.
Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders.
Sixth Judicial District Judge Heather Sweetland stayed 180 days of jail time Monday and ordered two years of probation for Anderson. Anderson’s attorney is David Keegan.
